In all honesty, I haven’t devoted a whole lot of attention to Hurricane Katrina and the chaos left in its wake. Besides dealing with my petty personal problems, it’s just sort of hard to come to terms with something of that magnitude. I mean it’s a city, gone, thousands dead, and the living probably envy them. Electricity is sporadic at best, food and clean water are increasingly harder to come by, and lawlessness is running rampant. Watching it unfold, it’s hard to not feel small and helpless. Though in all likelihood, I’ll be heading down to the Red Cross to donate money and/or blood. It’s the absolute least I can do.
